The so-called “Patrizzi” — the famed brown-eye dial. The entire dial has aged evenly and beautifully, while only the outer edge of the subdials has shifted to a deeper, richer brown. Taste varies, of course, but many collectors specifically hunt for examples with this kind of pronounced darkening. This piece also features a Mark V dial, identified by the five dots at 12 o’clock sitting slightly lower than usual — a brown change that doesn’t happen to every dial from the same era, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind character. The hands and dial retain their original all-tritium lume. Condition is the real showstopper: the bezel and case remain razor-sharp, and the bracelet shows no stretch.
