Ukiyo-e Fire-breathing, violent transformation contest "Kidomaru" (Aladdin Sane)
Ask
Kidomaru, who is often used as a subject of ukiyo-e, is a sorcerer who appears in the Kamakura period tale collection "Kokin Chomonshu" and Kyokutei Bakin's "Shitenno Ketsutoiroku". This painting combines the image of the fierce Kidomaru who controls a giant snake with the delicate and mysterious charm of Bowie.

UKIYO-E PROJECT
The ukiyo-e production team is working on the project with artisans such as painters, carvers, and printers who have inherited techniques from the Edo period. Modern stars such as KISS, Iron Maiden, and David Bowie have been depicted as ukiyo-e, and they have quickly become a hot topic both in Japan and overseas.
