Ukiyo-e: Fire-breathing, violent transformation contest "Takezawa Toji" (Diamond Dogs)
¥130,000
Takezawa Toji II was a hugely popular acrobat during the Edo period, known for his various performances and tricks.
I think there is a strong affinity between Bowie, who was an entertainer and, in a sense, an illusionist. This painting depicts Bowie playing the role of Fujitsugu, who performs with a spinning top, in a performance based on the legend of the nine-tailed fox, in which the dog in "Diamond Dogs" is likened to a fox.

UKIYO-E PROJECT
The ukiyo-e production team is working on the project with artisans such as painters, carvers, and printers who have inherited techniques from the Edo period. Modern stars such as KISS, Iron Maiden, and David Bowie have been depicted as ukiyo-e, and they have quickly become a hot topic both in Japan and overseas.
