This was the first solid gold Submariner model. It was released around 1969 with a meter-first dial, followed by this feet-first dial. This Fujitsubo solid gold model is said to have been made for about 10 years, but it seems that it was only produced three times: around 1969, around 1971-1972, and around 1976-1977. It was quite expensive at the time and the tariffs on gold were very high, so it was produced in small numbers and not made every year like other models.
