This is the 1961 reference 5508 model, the last guardless model of the Submariner. Being a '61 model, it of course has a gilt dial with a circle and Only SWISS inscription. The beautiful dial has a nice shine and the original hour and minute hands, bezel, and bracelet are in very good condition. Of particular note is the shape of the tip of the minute hand. It is a rare original with a slender, long tip that reaches the outer circle. The case is also in excellent condition, and there are no signs of polishing on the sides or back, so it is probably unpolished.
