The watch itself is also very honest in its overall condition. Both the hands and dial retain their original tritium, with no lume loss. The silver sunburst dial is clean and free from spotting, and together with the simple pencil hands and 34mm case, gives the watch a restrained sense of elegance.
The bracelet is a 78350 with 557 end links, and the clasp code is VB, correctly matching the 1977 serial period of the watch. Stretch is minimal, and the overall condition speaks for itself. Because the Air-King is not a model defined by overt rarity, it feels especially right to enjoy one that remains this original.
As a Ref.5500 with its originality intact and warranty papers still present, this is a particularly convincing example.
