The Summicron is Leica's signature lens. It has been the standard for Leica since its inception, and is well-known for its crisp image quality. This is the second generation of black paint with a thicker focus ring after the fixed copper mirror was introduced. It was once popular with professional photographers, and it is true that there are not many in good condition left. Please note that many of them are repainted.
Later models have cylindrical barrels and different lens configurations, so if you want to enjoy the image quality of the early Summicron, I recommend those from this generation or era. It's not that later Summicrons are bad, but the early ones are just too good.
The lens is in excellent condition with no scratches, balsam, or mold, but there is a very slight cloudiness. If you are concerned about it, we can return it to you after maintenance. It has no effect on the image, so you can continue to use it as is.
This is an eternal standard. Don't miss this opportunity.
