The CL is a compact film camera with a Leica bayonet mount that was released at the same time as the M5 and was equipped with an exposure meter. When the M4 was still in its prime, Leica was one of the first to release models with built-in exposure meters, the M5 and CL. The M5 looks like a heavy, big lunchbox, and the CL looks small and cheap.
Although each model has its pros and cons, they have gradually become popular due to their character.
The CL this time is a type made by Leica that only has the Leitz marking. The Minolta version has the LeitzMINOLTA marking, and for some reason Leica fans dislike this model, which I will explain later.
The lens included in this set is a 28mm, not the standard Rokkor 40mm. For a 28mm, it's very compact and easy to handle, and the depiction is subdued, giving it an old-lens feel that I really like. I think it's particularly good at expressing evenings and gradations. You can use just the lens with your current M-series, or vice versa, attach your current lens to the CL and use it as a walking camera.
As for the condition, the body is very clean with minimal scratches and scuffs. In particular, the top plate of the CL is soft, so many of them are pressed or hit and dented, but this one is completely clean.
The exposure meter also works almost accurately, so it's an immediate asset.
The best thing about it is that it's light. It's also good to go out with both the digital camera and this CL.
The lens is in perfect condition, both in appearance and in the lens itself. There are only a few scratches on the hood.
As mentioned above, the image quality is wide-angle (28mm), which combines the best of old lenses.
This is a highly recommended set for anyone looking to start using film or looking for a secondary camera.
