Ukiyo-e "Ukiyo-e Stylish Men Kissing Four Men, Takara Ryusu Tanrei"
¥130,000
■ A miraculous collaboration between the traditional Japanese art of "Ukiyo-e" and "KISS"!
A new ukiyo-e has been revived for the modern era by artisans (painters, carvers, printers) who have handed down their techniques for over 400 years since the Edo period. In order to send a message from Japan to the world, the first collaboration with an overseas artist has begun. This is a collaboration that transcends borders and time between KISS, who are said to be the most influential band in the world, known for their eccentric makeup and costumes, and their intense performances on stage, such as fire-breathing and blood-spitting, and is a collaboration between ukiyo-e and KISS. It is a masterpiece that can be enjoyed for its rich colors and the texture of washi paper, obtained by more than 90 printing processes over a period of about 6 months.
■ KISS Ukiyo-e "Ukiyo-e Stylish Kiss Four Men: Takara Ryusu Tanrei" Work Introduction
Based on Utagawa Kuniyoshi's "Kuniyoshi Moyaou Price Tag Cashier Karainu Gonbei", it was created with the image of Paul Stanley putting on makeup. The pattern on the kimono is a hellish supernatural scene, with Gene Simmons as King Enma, and Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer as demons. The pattern on the obi is a family crest-like mark of someone other than Eric, and the pattern on the hand towel draped over his shoulder is the "circle with power pattern" that is on Eric's vest. In the background, a Japanese translation of the chorus of his signature song "Rock and Roll All Nite" is rendered.

UKIYO-E PROJECT
The ukiyo-e production team is working on the project with artisans such as painters, carvers, and printers who have inherited techniques from the Edo period. Modern stars such as KISS, Iron Maiden, and David Bowie have been depicted as ukiyo-e, and they have quickly become a hot topic both in Japan and overseas.
