Ref.16253 サンダーバード、艶のある深いネイビーギルトダイヤル。
一般的なブルーダイヤルのように明るく青が出るというより、角度によっては黒っぽく見える不思議なダイヤル。ミラーのような艶があり、ゴールドカラーのロゴ、レター、インデックス、針がよく映えます。
本来の意味でのギルトダイヤルではありませんが、深いネイビーに金文字が乗ることで、結果としてギルトに近い見え方をしています。3枚目の動画、写真で見ても通常のブルーとは少し印象が違います。色の濃さと艶感が、この個体の大きな見どころです。
サンダーバードは、デイトジャストに回転ベゼルを組み合わせたTurn-O-Graph系のモデル。通常のデイトジャストより少しスポーティで、コンビの華やかさもありながら、36mmケースにきちんと収まるところが魅力です。
1980年製、Cal.3035搭載。ブレスレットはSS×14KYGのジュビリーブレス62523、FF455。クラスプコードはF3でオリジナルです。

Rather than showing a bright blue like a typical blue dial, this dial has an unusual depth, appearing almost black depending on the angle. It has a mirror-like gloss, which makes the gold-colored coronet, lettering, indexes, and hands stand out beautifully.
Strictly speaking, this is not a true gilt dial. However, with the gold printing set against the deep navy surface, it gives an impression very close to a gilt dial. As seen in the third video and photos, the tone is clearly different from a standard blue dial. The depth of the color and the glossy texture are the main highlights of this particular piece.
The Thunderbird is part of the Turn-O-Graph lineage, combining the Datejust with a rotating bezel. It has a slightly sportier character than a standard Datejust, while still retaining the refined presence of a two-tone model. The 36mm case keeps the overall impression well-proportioned and wearable.
Produced in 1980 and powered by the Cal.3035 automatic movement. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel and 14K yellow gold Jubilee bracelet, Ref.62523 with 455 end links. The clasp code is F3, which is original to the period.
