初代 PATEK PHILIPPE “Golden Ellipse” 3548G

フランスの数学者ガブリエル•ラメの曲線研究を元にデンマークの数学者ピート･ハインがデザインに応用する事を考えました。この理論を元にデザインされたのが、ゴールデン･エリプス、つまり黄金比の楕円(直訳)です。フリッツハンセンの楕円テーブルなど多くのプロダクトに応用されています。これは、手に取った時、そして手首に乗せた際に明らかに理解出来る不思議な美しさを持っています。

また、このref.3548のムーブメントは、23-300PMというパテックの手巻の銘品です。個人的にゴールデンエリプスは食わず嫌いでした。この時計を手に取られた方はきっと僕と同じだと思います。
1970年初頭にホワイトゴールドで、このスーパー楕円を時計のデザインに落とし込んだデザイナーに敬意を表します。必ずコレクションに必要な1本となる事でしょう。
